Granddaughter of Simonie and Martha Michael of Niaqunnguuq (Apex). Rachel Michael works as the Research Advisor on Housing and Homelessness at Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated. Rachel is the co-founder of the Qupanuaq Inuit Child First Initiative Service Coordination office. She is also the founder of the social enterprise Piujulia Uummatnnit. She continues to live and work in her home community in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
